  • Shut down Ekblad for rest of the season?

Please, Panthers, don't turn Aaron Ekblad into Eric Lindros

Great article, fully agree. Hopefully they lose their next few games and are fully out of playoff contention by the time Ekblad would be "ready" so they have an easy decision of shelving him for the season.

Sad, really. Wish team doctors would get involved a little more when it comes to letting a player return when they clearly shouldn't. I'm surprised insurance companies still want to cover players, considering they take very bad decisions in regards to their health and safety.....and that includes everyone involved, from the owner to the player.

Insurers will cover anything so long as they still reasonably expect to make money on the entire risk. I can only imagine though the types of premiums being paid for Long Term Disability coverage given the yearly salaries these players make and the extremely high risks of injury vs. the regular population.

Hopefully nothing serious. I know in most cases, if it was only up to the players, they would return ASAP but someone needs to stop them from putting their life/career at risk like this.

So yeah, first neck pain and now headaches. Panthers are dumb.

They are in a perfect position to make an easy decision to rest him till the fall. They are indeed very dumb on the subject.
