Yeah, it was kind of an "in-between" type episode, I found. Of course Euron's massacre was pretty big, but it still felt like much of the rest of the episode was laying more foundation. No complaints though. I can't wait for E3, but I'm not watching it until tomorrow night. No spoilers yet :P

After tonight's episode there are only 10 more left, and only 4 more this season!

    • So that was a pretty intense ending to season 6. All of the fuss about The Wall and now.. gonzo. Further South, "How do you answer to these charges.. Lord Baelish?" Boom. I knew Arya hadn't accidentally let him see her. Arya opened and ended this season masterfully. "When people ask you what happened here, tell them the North remembers. Tell them winter came for House Frey" still gives me shivers. Bran was the shiniest star of this scene though.

Littlefinger: "None of you were there to see what happened. None of you knows the truth."
Bran: ďYou held a knife to his throat. You said, ĎI did warn you not to trust me.íĒ
      Littlefinger: "Fuck."

Cersei acted predictably, and it was satisfying to finally see the seeds of malice towards her being sewn in Jaime. Valonqar prophecy please! Can't wait for dragon vs dragon and Clegane vs Clegane! Also, how will Daenerys react to the information of Jon's parentage? Will he reject his birthright? Looking forward to seeing the Golden Company too.

I'm still gushing over this exchange from the season's penultimate episode:

Tormund, talking about Brienne: "I see how she looks at me."
The Hound: "Like she wants to carve you up and eat your liver?"
      Tormund: "You DO know her!"

      Right up there with:

Joffrey: "Everyone is mine to torment! You'd do well to remember that, you little monster."
Tyrion: "Oh, 'monster'. Perhaps you should speak to me more softly then. Monsters are dangerous and, just now, kings are dying like flies."

      What a show.

      • I'm interested to see how this ends.

The Walkers had a good season. They took down the Wall and added a dragon to their army. The Winterfell scenes I found pretty odd, especially Arya-Sansa. Apparently there was a cut scene where Bran reveals to Sansa what happened. I think it would have been better, although less surprising, if they added that scene in.

I do feel bad for the showrunners. It seems like since the show has caught the books, Martin has given them very little to work with. At times you can tell the difference between the two, but it wasn't a bad season at all. I'm glad we finally got to see what dragons could do in battle.

Rumours are next season wont start until 2019. Hoping that's not the case.

        • About that Valonqar prophecy..

Cersei is supposed to have three children. All are supposed to die before her. And her brother is supposed to kill her. So it makes a lot of sense to me that she does in childbirth - then she never has a fourth child, and it's technically Jaime's "fault".

              They raise some good points.

I'm torn on what I think the ending will be. On one hand, I don't see Martin doing a stereotypical Jon-Dany marriage, defeat the Walkers and take the Throne type of ending.

However, the books are a song of Ice and Fire. To me, that's either: Jon Snow, or Jon and Dany.

This is all assuming they are going to use Martin's ending as their own. He's said that as many as 16 characters who have died in the show will appear in his next book Winds.

              • Brandon, don't you just love how Karlsson had the most original - and probably best - answers?

                • As Iím sure youíve heard by now, the show wonít return until 2019.

Itís a huge bummer for me. I get that itís going to be a massive season (despite only six episodes), but no viewers should have to wait two years for a season of the show.

They also stated theyíre going to film multiple endings so it doesnít leak. I really hope this season stays under wraps and we can experience the ending the way the show runners want us to.

Yeah, it's definitely a bummer. That said, I think I'm going to try to watch the first 7 seasons again leading up to the final season. I'm really looking forward to seeing where they're going to take it, and trying to stay away from spoilers. I have a pretty good idea of what will go down though.

                        Cersei will marry Euron.

Jon will find out that heís a Targaryen.

The wall will fall to the Nightís King/wights and they will start killing everyone.

Bran will travel back in time and try to warn Aerys about the army of the dead, but will fail, hence the Mad King.

Bran will try going further back and warg into the Nightís King. He becomes the Night King and someone will have to kill him, possibly Jon.

                        Almost everyone will die.

Arya or Jaime will kill Cersei.

The Hound will kill the mountain by burning his face (karma, bitch).

Daenerys will take the Iron Throne, but later die in childbirth.

                        • Interesting. I agree that Cersei will marry Euron, and it seems inevitable Jon finds out heís a Targaryen (unless the Walkers reach Bran before Jon does). The wall also is already down, remember the last episode?

Ive heard the Bran theory and I really like it. While the Night King part is a little hard for me to comprehend (it takes a couple minutes to process lol), I really like the Mad King theory. They teased Branís time travel with Hodor, but there has to be more to it. That is a game changer.

What do you think happens to the dragons?

Oh yeah (about the wall). More proof I need to go back and watch them all again!

I really have no idea what will happen with the dragons. I could see Viserion killing Rhaegal and then being killed by Drogon, but I could also see Viserion killing both and surviving until Bran/NK dies.
