Not like the on the other site but one with a pop up window where it is instant?

Or at least not have post counts count.

It is done. Not quite a pop-out chat, but you can open it in a new tab. Access it from the top menu where the FAQ, Members, and Login/Logout/Register links are. There are still some bugs in it that I need to iron out, but it's there, and it works.
