Coach told the guys to keep it close. Leafs were trying too hard to win so take it easy.

I only caught a few glimpses of the game (when it was tied 2-2) and the Sens looked pretty good from what I saw. I didn't see Corvo - has he played yet this preseason?

Corvo was not part of last night's team. Also missing were Turris and Conacher.

I watched the whole game on tape, and here's what struck me:

            - Zibanejad did not get much ice time, but he made the most of it. Looked dangerous in the zone.
            - I was also really impressed with Petersson and Prince, who played together on a line most of the night.
            - Ryan and Spezza does work well, but right now Spezza is making a lot of those no-look passes that end up going nowhere. Once Ryan keys in on where he should be to receive those, look out.
            - Michalek looked slow.
            - Anderson at the end of the second period either lost interest or was hurt, because he let in 2 goals in about a minute. The one that Kadri scored was particularly soft. There was a planned switch to Nathan Lawson in the 3rd anyway, but Anderson did not come back to sit on the bench after the 2nd intermission.
            - Karlsson is, I would say, 80% back. Much more freedom moving than in the playoffs. Had a solid game without doing anything spectacular.

In addition Pageau was a beast.

The Sens were in complete control of the first half of the game. They took the foot off the pedal by the 3rd.
