Leafs are going to have some cap problems on the opening night.

I think they're 1 million over right now. They'll definitely have less than a 23 man roster on opening night.

The bigger problem will be next summer. If the cap doesn't go up the Leafs are in serious trouble.

I'm pretty sure Phaneuf is still better than Franson, but definitely an important move. With him back, I actually think Toronto is going to be a very legitimate threat and could go far.

Did you watch Phaneuf in the playoffs? Or at all last season? Why he's matched up against the opponent's top line is beyond me.
