  • Game 80: Penguins @ Senators, 7:30pm

    - This game is do or die for the Senators. A miraculous 20-4-4 run has put them two points back of Pittsburgh, Detroit and Boston for the final playoff spot in the East. After an overtime loss to the Leafs on Sunday, the Sens are no longer in a position where they control their own destiny. They will have to muster up three more points than one of the teams listed above. Pittsburgh might be the best option for Ottawa to target, as they can give them a loss tonight.

    - Hammond vs Fleury. With only two wins in his last eight starts, Fleury has been struggling. Hammond comes into the game 17-1-2 and is the hottest goalie in the league.

    - The Penguins have taken both matchups this season. The first matchup, in early December, was decided by a late goal by Christian Ehrhoff. The second matchup featured an impressive rally by the Senators at home, being down 3-0 in the 3rd and 4-2 with under five minutes in regulation. However, the Penguins prevailed in a shootout to win the game 5-4. Those three points lost by the Senators could prove to be extremely costly down the stretch.

    - Brandon Sutter has a two game goal scoring streak going, while Ian Cole has a four game point streak going.

    - Kyle Turris has five points during a three game point streak. Mark Stone enters the game on a six game point streak, while also putting up 22 points in his last 20 games. Bobby Ryan, on the other hand, only has one goal in his last 17 games. If the Sens want to run the table in the final three games, getting Bobby Ryan going will be key.

Bobby Ryan is due. I'm calling a 3 point night for him and/or Zibanejad.

I'm also looking for a big game from Chiasson. He's been real strong on the puck lately and a key component in our zone cycles. I'd like to see him get position in front of the net on the PP.
