  • Game 81: Sens v Rangers

    - still waiting to confirm goalies but I'd be shocked if Hammond wasn't in net.
    - Caps did us a HUGE favour last night by beating the Bruins - we're now even on points with 2 games to go. Boston are at Florida tonight...Detroit play Montreal.
    - after my last spectacular (and failed) prediction I'll double down and say Hoffman scores again tonight.

Tied with Boston, 1 point back of Pittsburgh, 2 points back of Detroit, 3 points back of New York.

Tonight's game is obviously massive for the Sens. I think the key to the game is playing a physical game. The Rangers have already clinched the President's Trophy ... although their team mindset is still to win the game, the individual mindset is to not risk injury at this point.

If the Sens can go 2-0, I could actually see them passing New York of all teams.

Haha, I thought of you when I posted that. Crazy to think they were 2 seconds away from clinching a playoff spot.

If Ottawa wins tonight and Boston only gets one point out of their game vs Florida, Ottawa is back in the 8th spot. Or if Ottawa only gets one point and Boston loses in regulation, the same thing is true. So we can grab that spot tonight!!

Don't forget that if the Sens do get the 8th spot, it would mean they'd play the Rangers in the 1st round. I doubt the Rags would hold back........they'd want the message to be clear. So I expect them to come all out, fighting for the win more than the points per say. So Sens better be ready to play a 60 mins game.

Yes and no. Rangers resting some players...to help the Sens..is maybe helping them in the process. Diffrent perspective for both locker room... think about it...in a way, they are chosing their opponent for the 1st round..

Zuccarello & Staal are also not playing...

                        Be impressed... Very impressed!

It's do or die here for the Sens. I am personally not an Ottawa fan but I will keep a close eye on this game. Their run has been exciting and impressive. I'd like to see them win here tonight and eventually faceoff in the playoffs. I'd like to see them keep the dream alive and get revenge for the Habs last year. Crash the net!

I guess I didn't really think about it this way, but I think Ottawa would have just as good a chance against them as Boston would. If I was the Rangers, I'd actually probably prefer to face the Bruins. I can understand that Pittsburgh and the Islanders have a certain amount of star power and more of their players could be seen as game-breakers though.
