  • What should the Sens do this summer?

Should they try and deal Lehner? Is Hammond worthy of a chance as the backup? Anderson still # 1, right?

Who needs to be signed? Who should they let walk?

Which position needs attention the most?

How does it look, cap wise..any wiggle room?

    Damn I miss Capgeek...

From what I know, we've got lots of cap but also lots of people to sign.

Goalie wise, I wonder if we try dealing Lehner to a team like Edmonton? We're also chasing that college goalie - if he signs it could get even more complicated.

The only goalie who should be safe, IMO, is Anderson. He is a solid and reliable goaltender. In any scenario without him, the 2015-16 Sens season could be lost. The Sens will have a big decision with Lehner and Hammond, and possibly O'Connor, too. Hammond could be a flash in the pan, and Lehner could be a future #1 goalie, but how many good goalies are the Sens going to let go in favour of Lehner's potential?

From what I can tell, the cap room is about $10.5M for next season (before the cap goes up or down). The Sens have Stone, Zibanejad, Hoffman, Chiasson, Pageau, Condra and Hammond to re-sign. Murray has said they'll spend more money, but they won't be a cap team. They're going to have to get rid of some plays such as Greening, Legwand, probably a defenseman, Smith, etc.

Fully agree. Shout out to Ben Bishop and Cory Conacher

Jas, in case you don't know about it, there's a site that's similar to CapGeek but not quite as good, NHLNumbers: http://nhlnumbers.com/

The Oilers are out of the Matt O'Connor (G) sweepstakes. It's down to the Canucks, Rangers or Senators. His agent told TSN1200 last week he was "thrilled" with Ottawa when he visited, and he does not mind playing in the AHL. A decision is expected in the next 5 days.
