It's hard to argue this is a good move by Toronto. He's a better coach than their previous three. But, in all honesty, I think he's extremely over-hyped. He came into Detroit and they already had some amazing pieces. Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Datsyuk. He did well with a great group of players, both in the NHL and at the Olympics, but he did also have a lot to work with. I mean, you look, even the past 6 years when some of the players have started to get older, the Wings have only won two playoff rounds in that span.

He'll be a good coach for Toronto, but he won't pull off miracles like a lot of the media and fans think he will. With that contract comes a lot of expectations ... we'll see if both parties can live up to it.

I was hoping Buffalo would get him. Or San Jose. Oh well, good luck to him....

Toronto won't be getting any top-3 picks in this rebuild. And this is going to cause owners to fight for a cap on management in the next CBA. Great.

If they trade Kessel and Phaneuf I could see them picking top 5, still.
