Hopefully this will let O'Connor get into a game or two and get some NHL experience at least.

I wonder how he feels about that though. He was pretty specific about not feeling ready and wanting to sign with a team who wouldn't need him right away.

Well, I'm sure he was aware of the possibility. He was told the Sens would move one goalie for him, so he knew he'd be #3 on the depth chart and an injury away from being a backup.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll consult with him first. Sounds like he'd be pretty excited about the possibility of playing in his hometown of Toronto, and it's the first of back to backs. Also Toronto is a team that will struggle to score goals this year, so would be a good opportunity to get him the experience, without worrying so much about him getting lit up and ruining his confidence.

This was the perfect scenario. O'Connor got a look with the big boys, got a bit shell-shocked, and now starts the year humbled in Bingo. If he had any doubts about not being ready, if part of it was just him "talking the talk", then he's 100% sure of it now. Either way, he got a taste for the real thing, and that's going to be a very valuable measuring point for him going forward.

I'm glad Hammond is back and hope he gets a start soon, but I have a feeling Anderson will be playing both games in the upcoming back-to-back.
