  • Lokomotiv Yaroslavl League

Here it is. This is the place to talk LYL fantasy hockey. JH and I realize we have a wide array of owners from across Canada and people one or the other of us know in various capacities, so not everyone knows everyone else, in fact quite the contrary. We've tried to be accommodating about sharing owners' phone numbers so anyone could text anyone else about trade offers, but it's been tricky with so much turnover among owners, many owners with busy personal lives not wanting their text message inboxes crowded with trade offers and negotiations, and little motivation to trade when there were always plentiful useful players on the waiver wire, etc. We tried a Facebook page last year, but a number of our owners don't use Facebook, and we have the ESPN message boards, but there is no option for private messaging there.

So here we have it: all in one convenient, easy to use place. One thread to talk about anything and everything league related, and more importantly - private messaging, so you can easily and comfortably message other owners to talk about players you have available, players you are interested in, and anything trade or generally league related with other owners, all in one place.

Just take a couple minutes to make an account, and feel free to look around and comment in other threads if anything piques your interest.

Welcome to the forum everyone! I'm Josh - the owner of this modest site and one of the new members to the league. My team name is Lind Lightning and I am always open for trade talk :)

Here's what you've all been waiting for: at long last, last years LYL awards winners!

First, the Pavol Demitra Award for best offensive team went to the Riverton Wrinkledinks, with first place finishes in four of the five categories.

The Ruslan Salei Award for best defensive team was a tie! The award will be shared by Riverton, and Bridge City. Of the four defensive categories, Riverton had one first place, two second place, and a fourth place finish. Bridge City had two first place, one third place, and one fourth place finish.

And the Stefan Liv Award for best goaltending goes to the TR Icemen, with two first place, one second place, and one third place finish.

Haha I believe you finished second in offense and third in defense. You would have been near the top in goaltending but your save percentage was dead last.

Speaking of which, I might need help at goaltending this year... also I need a left winger who can provide offense.

Found my left winger. Zucker averged four plus shots per game throughout both his college and AHL career, to go along with a twelve plus shooting percentage. And despite his age and experience, he played almost two minutes shorthanded last night, and led Wild forwards in total ice time, so he clearly has the coach's trust.

Still looking for a competent third goalie though.

I just joined a couple weeks ago. I think the league is short one team to make three even divisions..

I don't believe I can add teams once the season is already started. I have made it clear this year that if there is excessive and continuous inactivity from any one team we won't hesitate to find a replacement. But I think there's already one person ahead of you on the "waiting list".

Alright. No problem. You can give me a message or something if you guys need a fill-in, or are adding teams next season.

I'm thinking maybe we should extend the compliance window on expanded faceoff regulations. Start week five instead of week four... Was looking through rosters and some teams have seven or more faceoff guys, and one week isn't much time.

Also, Gillis and the other Josh have yet to set their lines. Josh doesn't have any injuries yet so I can't really say much there. Gillis had two injured players in his lineup and I had to adjust his today before game time. Jesse (Godfathers) has made player movements, yet still has T.J. Brodie in his lineup from the start of the year. Wtf?

Keeping an eye on these situations, and I don't want to jump the gun, but if changes need to be made, I'd like to have it done by week five, when the schedule starts to crossover into top teams playing bottom teams, and where scores can really get run up if anyone isn't setting their rosters.

I know a couple people from the league have joined the forum. I'd like to suggest that people introduce themselves. Or at least say who their team is in the league. Maybe give a quick rundown of what you think you might be looking for to improve your team. A certain position? Specific stats? Surpluses?

Nobody said anything, so faceoff rules take effect this week. Looks like two teams likely to get dinged - the same two teams that we expected to have an issue with.
