And speaking of Wideman, might be worth putting on fantasy league watchlists. Only 14 mins his first game but 2 shots, 3 hits, 2 blocks. And in the AHL last year 61 points and over three shots per game!
Ugh. I was really enjoying that game until the last 5 minutes of regulation...
What a night for Zibanejad though. Short-handed goal, powerplay assist, and tons of chances. Not to mention 19+ minutes of play. Finally starting to earn coaches trust. I really think he should should be on the first PP unit though. His one-timer from the left point is so lethal, especially with Karlsson setting it up.
Stone's creativity and subtle hands never ceases to amaze me. Those little back passes all over the ice when it looks like there's nowhere to go. He's like Spezza without the giveaways.
Zibanejad did have a huge game; he was creating turnovers and capitalizing. Neil also had the Gordie Howe hat-trick in his 900th game, it's just too bad the team folded in the last five minutes. Hoffman deserves more PP time as well. He should be on the top unit, in Ryan's place. I get that the team wants to get Ryan going, but it should happen organically and right now Hoffman is better. Does anyone know why Hoffman wasn't on in overtime or for the shootout? Is he injured?
I was watching the New Jersey feed and even they made special mention of Stone's hands - both with passing and on D with stick checking.
Zibby had a great game. I was also really impressed with Shane Prince - he gave our 4th line some real jump and they scored 2 of the 4 goals. Neil couldn't believe his luck with that pass Prince fed him, right to the slot.
However, our D was suspect all night and Hammond should have had the third goal. Hoffman was money, but on a 5 minute PP you would hope to create more than 1 scoring chance. We need to win games like this.

Well said Matt, couldn't agree more. This was a game we should have had.
