  • More goals?

Saw a headline that said something like "NHL GMs would like more goals.."..to review equipment or size of the nets...I figured I would let this topid do its course and see where it goes. Then I'm watching the Sens/Preds game and not even halfway through 3rd, there were 10 goals scored. Some sloppy plays led to some of the goals...but its 10 goals nonetheless.

Do you believe smaller equipment would make a difference? Smaller nets? Both?

Other than the nets & gears..has the game changed so much that its now become an art to score?

I don't believe the # of goals define the game per say. Some great plays result in awesome goals and that is fun to see...but I also enjoy seeing a tight game, great defensive plays..and spectacular saves.

Glad to see the hockey community focusing on what's important and not wasting their time on trivial issues like concussions, violence against women, and substance abuse.

Agree with both of you - more goals is not synonymous with more entertaining, and there are much more important problems in hockey than a supposed lack of goal scoring.

Although, if the players are spending more time scoring goals then they won't have so much free time to devote to sustaining traumatic brain injuries, buying coke, and committing assault and battery so the league may be on to something here.

Maybe they'd score more if they had the right goals.

This obsession with goals is kinda ridiculous. We just saw a 7-5 game and it was terrible to watch. And no, not just because the Sens lost.

I want to see the best of everything. If a goalie is just that good, I want to see it. I don't want the league to water down skills just because it makes a cool red light go off more often.

This has been the issue with Betman's tenure as commissioner. He's convinced he can attract new fans with gimmicks that the old fans will hate and he knows he will retain the old fans no matter what stupid shit he imposes because people can't walk away. People want more goals the same way Atlanta wanted a fucking hockey team.

they'll make the goalie equipment smaller and that'll be that.

                  This did not go unnoticed.
