  • Game 17: Vs Rangers 1PM ET

    The game is on TSN5

    Anderson gets the start

Coach Dave Cameron switched his forward lines at practice and told the Ottawa Sun that if they stay that way against the Rangers it's for matchup reasons:

Mika Zibanejad centered Matt Puempel and Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris was between Milan Michalek and Mark Stone. Jean-Gabriel Pageau had Mike Hoffman and Alex Chiasson on his wings and Zack Smith was in the middle of Curtis Lazar and Chris Neil.

Karlsson is coming off consecutive games with one goal and one assist

Wideman has a goal in both last games he's played, including the game winner against Vancouver.

Ryan has 2 goals and 3 assists during a four game point streak.

    Go Sens!!

Umm ok Smith just gave a dirty elbow to Stepan's head..Kreider stepped in. Both exchanged a few good punches, Kreider gets the 2 mins for instigator, and a 10 mins misconduct..so he should be back midway through 3rd, Stepan is out for concussion protocol...so I guess thank you Smith for now...but pretty sure it'll be reviewed by the league. .The original call was gonna be on Smith so after all this, no PP for both teams.

Now they are on the PP and not achieving much..1 shot. 1 min left in 2nd. Still 1-1

Yeah but really though, the Rangers PK played that one almost perfectly. Sens couldn't even pass the blue line, let alone set up.

Yeah, I was going to say that the Rangers were putting on a PK clinic during that one. They executed perfectly and Ottawa had zero momentum.

Two posts for Hoffman in OT...

Stone and Karlsson did not have particularly strong games, compared to what we're used to from them. That steal by Stone in OT though...

The Zibanejad line was good. They finally seem to be spending more time anywhere but the defensive zone, which is where they were stuck for most of the entire first six or seven games,

Can we agree after watching this game that Ottawa is not one of the eight worst teams in the east and that if they miss the playoffs it will only be because they lose every single trap game? Everything about this felt like an 1-seed vs 8-seed playoff game. Ottawa, you are better than Carolina, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Florida, Columbus, Toronto, Buffalo, and Boston. Don't fuck this up!

                              :nono:
