Wow. 4-team list and it's public now. Really handcuffs Snow.

He did narrow down his list for specific reasons...but considering the request was put in during the off season, he doesn't seem to be pushing too hard to handcuff the team more than he has to... I guess one could say he sounds patient in his request to at least give the team a chance to work out a deal that will benefit them 'a little'... It doesn't sound like he is being an asshole about it but who knows what is said behind close doors...

Hamonic opens up about the trade request:

Addressing the media for the first time since news of his trade request became public, New York Islanders defenceman Travis Hamonic said the root of his request is a family matter he holds dear to his heart.

Yeah, I don't think Hamonic deliberately wanted to handcuff Snow, and it should have been on Snow to make dealing him a bigger priority before it got out.

Anyways, Edmonton should be ALL over this. The left side of their D is weak as hell and Hamonic is exactly what they need.

What kind of deal could Edm do that would be a good fit for NY...and make everyone happy?

                Klefbom + 2nd?

Maybe a better trade with Edmonton would be:

                  Hamonic + Nielsen + Clutterbuck + Conditional 1st or 2nd to Oilers

                  Nugent-Hopkins + Schultz + Klinkhammer to Islanders

Oilers get a serviceable 2C (and a great 3C when McDavid is back) in Nielsen, and upgrade Schultz and Klinkhammer to Hamonic and Clutterbuck. Meanwhile, those downgrades are a small price to pay in the Islanders' position for upgrading Nielsen to RNH. The cap hits make sense too.

The condition on the 1st or 2nd is Nielsen not re-signing in Edmonton.

                  Perfect deal.
