The Anaheim Ducks revealed Saturday that forward Jakob Silfverberg sustained a broken right hand against the Ottawa Senators on Friday. He is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks.
The injury occurred when Silfverberg was slashed midway through the third period and with the Ducks leading 2-1. He did not return to the game following the incident. The injury is a tough one for Silfverberg, 23, who ranks fourth on the team with seven points in his first season with Anaheim. His 35 shots also rank second behind Corey Perry's 40. The Swede became the third player in Ducks history to score four goals in his first four games with the club.
