  • Nobody wants Rundblad??

He can't be as bad as Cowen, why didn't the Sens pick him up?

I remember not being impressed with him as a Senator. I realize he was a rookie, but his skating and defensive play were tough to watch. He had a great first pass, not bad vision and decent hands, but that's about it. I actually had similar thoughts about Silfverberg ... I had real concerns with his game.

Great deal for Murray, being able to get a great top six centre in return for Rundblad

I didn't realize it was that bad.... loll But considering he's already been traded 3 times in his young/short career...I guess that speaks volume.

Yeah, plus Murray seems to still think Cowen is loaded with potential.. I respect that the organization wants to give its players every chance to succeed, but I also think there's a point where a good manager knows you have to let go of what you want a player to be and acquire a known quality.

Well, Murray basically gave Cowen a timeline and that was until the end of this season. I really believe Jared Cowen won't be in a Sens uniform next season. He'll have one year left at $4.5M, but he's a young defenseman with some potential somewhere in him. We won't get good value for him ... that ship has sailed. But we could maybe get something for him, perhaps another underwhelming player who could use a change of scenery. If worst comes to worst, I'd place him on waivers. I'd imagine some team would take a gamble on him.
