  • Game 42 - vs Bruins

Sens played a pretty great game and took is 2-1 in OT. Karlsson played over 30 minutes and had 2 assists. Stone had the winner, and Zibanejad had the other.

    Karlsson is a generational talent.

45 points in 42 games is ridiculous, especially for a defenseman. He leads the East in points by five points and is fifth overall in the entire league. He plays over 28:30 per night ... he's essentially on the ice for half of the game. He's great defensively and outstanding in transition and in the offensive end of the ice. He's definitely carrying the team on his back. I think it's safe to say he's already approaching a lock for the Norris, barring a season ending injury. I'm confident to say Karlsson is so ahead of any other defenseman, that even if the Sens miss the playoffs, he'll walk away with his third Norris, which would be the first time that's ever happened. If the Sens make the playoffs, he contends for the Hart.

I've never seen a player like him before. He makes a difference every time he's on the ice.

I think a lot of people forget how lucky we are to have him. With 41 more points, which could somehow conceivably come this season at his current pace, Karlsson will be in the top-100 for points by defensemen ALL TIME. That's kind of crazy for a guy who's 25. He's got 9 goals through 43 games this season. If he scores 8 more in the remaining 39 games, he'll be 86th all-time for goals by a defenseman!

When it's all said and done, Karlsson will be considered one of the best three Swedish defenseman to ever play the game.

Totally agreed with everything you posted. I think when it's all said and done, he'll be considered one of the best defensemen of all time. He's been playing in a relatively low scoring era and scoring like a top end forward.
