I find it really interesting to compare Subban and Karlsson right now. Both are playing on mediocre teams this year. I do think Karlsson is better defensively but not to the point where he never makes any mistakes. Can you imagine if coach Cameron blurted out that Karlsson should stay back more and not try so many risky moves?
One thing about Subban is that he has a big ego to go along with the skill. I'm not sure this is how you should handle someone like this? I don't think 1 incident is enough but if this continues to happen and Therrien is not moved, does Subban save everyone the trouble?

Subban/Karlsson are very similar players. Two top-five defenseman, one is better offensively (Karlsson) and the other is better defensively (Subban, IMO), but they are both highly creative, highly skilled players who need free reign to do things because they're pretty much the offense for their team. It gets started with them. If Karlsson blew a tire or made a turnover on a GWG, I doubt any Sens coach would throw him under the bus. Why? Because they don't have an agenda (the French media has a huge vendetta against PK it seems, and part of me thinks it's a racial thing...), but not only that, but because of the type of player Karlsson is (and Subban) you take the rare bad spots that come with these types of players because of their skill. The good far outweighs the bad with these guys and you just have to let them be.

Did you see last nights highlights? Karlsson promptly goes out and makes 2 mistakes that lead directly to both Detroit goals. Ottawa did eventually win the game, which I'm sure helps. But Im yet to hear any commentary saying Karlsson needs to change?
I do feel Subban draws a target on his own back sometimes with the over-confidence. That's one big difference between both players, Karlsson barely speaks and when he does it's about the team, making improvements etc.
Of course, if you listen to Cherry it's still Doughty that wins the Norris...
