Same... well, more like the end of last season. When we lost Alfie and Melnyk's financial issues came to light, I started having my doubts.

I'll admit that I had one at the beginning of the season...

I agree with you there, but I don't think switching coaches is where this team is going to find a spark. And my point about Florida, Buffalo etc. was we play them several more times than San Jose, Anaheim, Chicago etc.

I honestly don't think so. Not yet. We're a little under .500 playing a whole bunch of Western teams. Wait until we play Florida, Buffalo, New Jersey a few more times.[/quote:2tk1yjlm]
You only play them so many times. Things need to turn around against the strong teams or they won't be in the playoffs.

All staples of Sens hockey, I'm afraid. At least we don't have to watch them dump every single puck anymore...!
It sucks how the last two years we went from being a team that had one of the best work ethics in the league and was never ready to give up and now this year it's pretty much the opposite.

Yeah. I'm not talking about what's happened, just what's ahead.

But you're right. This game and the second game we played this year which was against Toronto were both very winnable games. We should have beat them and had three more points than we currently do. Oh well...let's hope it doesn't come back to haunt us.

I'm not really even worried yet.

We had to start six in a row on the road. Other teams will have to do that later on in the season, we got away with it right off the bat. We've played teams like San Jose and Anaheim twice, Chicago, Detroit, LA. We've played plenty of very good teams and gotten them out of the way. We're three wins out from top three in the division with a game in hand and five out of our next six opponents are sub-.500 teams and most of November is home games.

This coming up month I expect the Sens to start racking up wins and moving up the standings. The following needs to be removed from our game:

    - turnovers
    - lazy work ethic
    - slow starts / going down early
    - bad penalties

That was a shambolic performance defensively. Bush league.

There were several blown assignments that lead to key goals.
    - On one of the goals, I think it was Cowen (?) that basically tells Michalek "I could take this guy but instead I'm gonna collapse some more and you can bust your gut backchecking and slashing instead", that directly led to a goal.
    - Then, Turris is not watching where the puck is, instead he's faced away from the goal looking directly at Toews...and Toews still scores on him!
    - How about the time that Karlsson just wasn't paying enough attention and Toews skates in unopposed behind him??!!

You can't win games playing this way. No team should have to score 7 goals in order to win on a nightly basis.

Gotta say, I fully expected the Sens to be dominating this year. Didn't expect this play.
