    Great deal! The relative backload would seem to indicate Melnyk may expect to have some of the budget woes figured out by next season.

      I like the deal. As Josh said, looking deeper into the contract, that could be a really good sign. Or perhaps they'll try to move him in the next year now that he has term.

        According to this French reporter, he has a no trade clause for the last 3 years of the deal. He has to submit a list of 10 teams he refuses to go to......

        I just hope they don't shaft him like they did to Hossa...

          Oh, interesting. I don't think what I said was any sort of rumour, just random speculation from myself. It could very well be that the $3.8M year is his RFA year, and the $5.65M years are his UFA years.

          Now to get Ceci signed

            Yeah, hopefully it remains just a thought ;-)

            That same reporter quoted Dorion for saying he is confident Ceci will be signed soon.

              I read that the Sens have offered Ceci a few good deals, and it's his choice what routes he wants to take.
