  • Pasta 2 games for a hockey hit

Its hockey...not figure skating. Watched the game wed and it was blown up by the boner nbc msg guys.
Pasta (pasternak) is 6ft 180...and 20yrs old... girardi is 32 6ft1 and 210. Those 12 yrs and 20 lbs make a diff. Plus and most importantly it was an open ice face to face shoulder check...they are so called shoulder checks because one uses a shoulder to check the body of the opposing player.

Call it Daisy check going forward as everyone in the game today are soft like pansies...take out the reinforced carbon armour padding and see the best game in the world be great again.

There's a lot I agree with in this post. Looking at the hit, I don't think it should have ever been more than the minor penalty on the call. Even that was probably stretching it.

Ok so im biased...but its not some hab pitchforking any player or a leaf corkscrewing someone...anyway Thornton not joe wore old school jofa or ccm pads...like 18th of an inch... and we had 7 or 8 short handed situations like msg was totally and litterally slanting the ice. No worries though i love me that kid McIntyre... like price in his rookie yr. Calm and easy.

Seeing this for the first time...I'm sorry, that's not a penalty let alone a suspension. Whatever happened to the responsibility to "know where your opponent is" on the ice? Body checks are legal. Just because Girardi doesn't want to look down doesn't magically place him off limits.
