Wow, couldn't have wrote that one any better. An amazing performance by Anderson and definitely an emotional one, too. Very classy from the Oilers fans to cheer for him in the three stars.

I'm glad it was the former.

I remember yesterday, after it was announced he was joining the team, imagining a shutout. The Oilers have been so good this year, especially offensively. But it's moments like these where you see a player have a surreal moment under circumstances like this.

Anderson was ON FIRE last night. As with all stretches when the Sens play well, Andy controls rebounds better than most in the league and that really helps the D clear it away. Even if sometimes Methot looks like he can't hit the broad side of a barn with a pass...

I was watching the Oilers feed, and they were really impressed with the way Andy came out and played the puck. A couple of times he stopped the puck dead behind the net as they tried to ring it around. A few more times he cleared the zone completely by himself. There was one save on Gryba I think where he came at least 3-5 feet outside of his blue paint to challenge and make the save. I knew then he wasn't getting scored on for anything that night.

The way every one of the Sens went to him and hugged him, gave a few words of encouragement, and then Karlsson at the end...I could feel the emotion.

A couple of other really cool bits of info I picked up from the Oilers feed:

- Guy Boucher has a masters in Sports Psychology. They were talking about how he really tries to work with each player as an individual person.
- Bobby Ryan was also talking about his new coach. They mentioned he was very self-aware about his play, that in the past coaches have been overly negative and that he hasn't "internalized" that well (think Burkie and the "intensity"). But Boucher has spent time to encourage what he wants to see Bobby do better - get to dirty areas and score from close in.
- Before Mike Hoffman scored, they were also talking about how Boucher had given similar advice to him - "stop thinking, but keep shooting". Then he scored from less than 10 feet on that great Pyatt pass.
