What a start to his career Patrick Laine has had. 11 goals and 16 points in 16 games, including two hat tricks.

He trash talked Matthews a lot over the summer and proclaimed he was the best player in the draft. I would take Matthews over him, but I think he'll have the better rookie year. His shot is ridiculous but wait until he fully realizes how valuable being 6'5 with hands in the NHL is.

Damn, the kid is on fire. If he keeps this up which I think he will eventually slow down a bit he will be a shoe in the the Calder Trophy.
