Bryzgalov could be an Oiler by tomorrow EDIT: SIGNED
Dreger said the deal could be done as soon as tomorrow and that they needed to move Smid to make cap room (even though they had 4.7 million in free space beforehand)...
Re: Bryzgalov could be an Oiler by tomorrow EDIT: SIGNED
I really don't see this as being the right set of moves. They need defenseman and shouldn't have traded Smid unless they were getting someone better in return. Bryzgalov isn't a better goalie than Dubnyk, or even LaBarbera, anymore. Edmonton's defense has been their problem, not the skill of their goaltenders (they also boast Richard Bachman as a pretty great third-string goaltender). They should be trying to trade Hemsky and Lander while they still have any value and getting a high-skill d-man who can effectively carry the puck out of the zone...
