Bruins score 40000th goal
The storied franchise reached a milestone...oddly enough before the 2011 cup win...this milestone comes against their 1970 cup opponents where the famed Robert Gordon Orr superman goal was immortalised to give the Bs cup number 4. The Bruins reached 40000 goals on the first period goal by Backes at 7:44. Putting the Black and Gold in the number 2 slot behind that other "hockey team" that won 18 of their 24 cups when monks/priests and teenagers played and the NHL was only 6... but hey its quality not quantity right?
Funny as mtl doesnt recognise the Silver Sevens' 11 cups... Anyway go Bruins!!! First team in history to play Willie O'REE #3 so take that mtl Maroons... we were Always Bruins... no witness protection name change for us
