Yet, I think Anderson's already been given the start tomorrow. -
Re: 1st star of the week = Robin Lehner
BTW, I'm in no way implying we should hang Anderson out to dry ...but right now, its Lehner's turn to shine. He is on a 3 game winning streak, for me there is no question, he should be in. There is no raisons to rush Anderson to return. I'm sure his turn will come soon enough.Comment

Lehner should start until he loses...then put Anderson in.
Or on a back to back situation... I don't know, is Ottawa playing back-to-back games tomorrow/Wednesday?Comment

Re: 1st star of the week = Robin Lehner
Lehner should have tomorrow's game and depending on how he plays, then determine who starts on Friday. I get Anderson is 'starter', maybe by contract, but Lehner's been really good going back to when the Sens were allowing 50+ shots on goal when he was in net and he still gave them a chance to win.Comment

I guess I do agree with you guys, but you also want the guys to know their place. You don't want Lehner to get too comfortable or give Anderson the impression that missing a couple games could cost him his job.Comment

They both are professional enough to understand (at least I hope there are) that while one is on winning streak, he should remain there. If most of them are superstitious like I think they are, they shouldn't want to switch now. You don't change a winning combination. Team 1st.Comment

Ottawa's got a good thing with two starting goaltenders right now...just ride the hot hand, one loses, you go to the next guy. Anderson should understand that.
Everything I'm reading anyways, from a lot of Sens fans, is that Lehner is #1 by his play, Anderson is #1 because of his contract.Comment

Re: 1st star of the week = Robin Lehner
The job is Anderson's to lose. Everyone knows Lehner will eventually get the starter job in Ottawa.
However, I don't think you just hand him the job on a silver platter, especially not before you negotiate a contract with him. Remember, our owner has all of a sudden become a penny pincher - don't you think he would have had a word to Murray saying "make sure you keep Anderson around until Lehner extends his contract".
When Friedman interviewed Murray on Thursday, he basically admitted he was very happy with Lehner except for the fact he has to re-sign him in the summer. :PComment

Re: 1st star of the week = Robin Lehner
The game was hardly Anderson's fault, although I'm curious why MacLean would start Anderson given how good Lehner had been. Anderson is a great goalie, don't get me wrong. He's definitely this teams #1 goalie at this time. But Lehner is a great goalie, who was on fire. He was winning the Sens games.Comment
