So Ted Nolan finally gets another chance in the NHL...this should be interesting.

Oh he did well with the Latvian national team. :(

Surprised Regier was fired, he sold well.

Ted Nolan is the perfect choice as a Sabres coach. Does he still have the "interim" title that Rolston had?

Yes for 2-3 years or so. Not their best years but not the worst either and he did well with what he had.

In fact, he is still coach of Latvia. And Girgensons is on Buffalo! There could be some conflicts of interest here. I guess the Sabres aren't planning to make the playoffs (not that any of us expect them but organisations generally like to keep things optimistic on an official level) since that would be awkward if Buffalo was in the playoffs during the WC.

I'm guessing this is more of a timing thing...the NHL will be off during the Olympics, and Buffalo won't make the playoffs, so that will free up Nolan during those times. His Latvian contract ends in the summer so I imagine he just won't extend his stay there.

With Zemgus already leading the charge, perhaps there will be a Latvian revolution in Buffalo? I hear Kaspars is available... ;)
