I'm on the fence with this one. Wingels has shown that he can be a productive player, but his point totals are way down this season and last. I'm wondering if it's merely that his usage has changed? The Sharks certainly do have a stacked offense..
He's a natural C who shoots left, so he's not really a replacement for MacArthur. Perhaps the idea is to move Bobby Ryan to LW, but then he's just finally starting to put pucks in the net so I'm not so sure that's the plan either.
Meanwhile. Stortini and the 7th are no loss, but Robinson was still an interesting player to me. I would have liked to see a bit more of him.

He's above Neil, Lazar, and Kelly in my depth chart. He's pretty much an NHL-ready version of Robinson.
Put him on a line with Smith and Pageau and you're good to go.Last edited by thedaigle1; 01-24-2017, 02:53 PM.

He shoots right. Wingels fell down to 13th forward with Hertl healthy now and they needed to clear space to take him off the IR.

This was a much, much needed trade. The Sens had (and still do) a massive problem - depth. They have less NHL-calibre players than their roster size. If a couple of guys went down due to injury, Ottawa would be in a lot of trouble. Wingels is a fine bottom six player, he should give us some breathing room and hopefully push someone from the bottom line to the press box

Of course, we're not all that serious about contending and we'll just ride the string to wherever that takes us, but it's nice to dream.

Smith - Turris - Ryan
Dzingel - Pageau - Wingels
Pyatt - McCormick - Bailey
Boom. Problem solved. And everybody gets to play on their natural side.
