Best Senators trade of the last 10 years, easy. Maybe only surpassed by the Yashin trade. Honourable mention to Foligno for Methot.
Still a bit sore about Foligno, to be honest. Obviously Methot filled a huge need, but he's regressing and Foligno's gone on to captain his team and play very well.
My list of top-five Sens trades all-time:
Alexei Yashin to Islanders for Zdeno Chara + Bill Muckalt + 2001 1st (Jason Spezza).
2008 1st (Chet Pickard) + 2009 3rd (Taylor Beck) to Nashville for 2008 1st (Erik Karlsson).
David Rundblad + 2012 2nd (Anthony Stolarz) to Arizona for Kyle Turris.
Brian Elliott to Colorado for Craig Anderson.
Jared Cowen + Colin Greening + Milan Michalek + Tobias Lindberg + 2017 2nd round pick to Toronto for Dion Phaneuf + Matt Frattin + Casey Bailey + Ryan Rupert + Cody Donaghey.
Honourable mention: 2010 2nd pick (Kent Simpson) to Islanders for Andy Sutton. I just loved watching him play for Ottawa.
The Foligno one I'm 'meh' on as well. We got a top for defenseman who works well with Karlsson, so that's good. I don't think Foligno would have broken out the way he did in Ottawa. But I think the trade was pretty even, or maybe a slight with for Columbus.
The Rundblad for Turris trade was awesome. The Sens traded a prospect who didn't amount to anything for, what turned out to be, a 60-point centre.

The Phaneuf one was also awesome.
Fully agree with the bold. This is why I think that trade was great for everyone involved. We desperately NEEDED Methot (still do), even if Foligno will be good for a few more years.
I'd actually forgotten how little we gave up for Turris, that one trumps the Methot trade.
And hey, every now and again I still go back to Youtube to watch a 10 minute collection of Andy Sutton absolutely steamrolling people. They don't make defensemen like him anymore.
