According to sources, the deal is close. The deal on the table now is 6 years, $8.33 million a year.

He deserves every penny, but I hope he gets an extra two years on that contract.

I'd think you should be happier with six years than eight. By the end of that 6th season, he'll earn less than $8M, or at least what that will be worth in today's dollars.

Cap will be way up by then.

To think, the Habs could have had Subban for four more years at $5 million if it weren't for that bridge deal. Oh, Bergevin...
