The fourth round pick going to LA is the one Dallas acquired from Montreal in the Jordie Benn trade at the deadline. - Dallas Stars Twitter account

Interesting. I guess the Stars feel they have a got shot at signing him between the expansion draft and July 1st. I forget how it works - if a UFA is signed before the expansion draft, is that player exempt?

Bishop signed a six year contract with Dallas today.

So that's a crowded crease with Niemi and Lehtonen both still under contract. Who stays and who goes?

What if somehow Vegas picks neither Niemi or Lehtonen? Looks like they both have one year left on their contracts after this. It wouldn't make sense to trade one and risk losing the other to expansion, so they will likely hold both, and expect that one of the two gets claimed. Probably not in their hands then, but will depend who else is available. Are there three teams with two better goalies than those two?

What happens with players going to free agency? If they're not signed by a certain date they go straight to expansion draft?

I'm still waiting for Lehtonen to break out somewhere...it just feels like he will be great on another team. Vegas could do worse for a goalie, good 1 year look at a guy.
