I think it's an expansion trade though; if I'm not mistaken, Sergachev doesn't need to be protected. So this frees up an extra protection for Tampa while Montreal must now protect Drouin.
I think I'd have done it for either Brown or White. This is a former 4th overall pick, we all saw what he did in junior. Now 22, and in his second full season put up 53 points. Still only 160 gp going into next season. Had a hickup in his development due to some stuff, and obviously he and Tampa decided it wasn't going to work, but I think this could still be an 80+ point scorer. He and Galchenyuk together will be a spectacle.
I don't know much about Sergachev but given his size I'm guessing the stats don't tell the full story, cus I can't imagine there weren't some pretty strong offers out there.

Not to be nit-picky, but Drouin went 3rd. I guess that's the definition of being nit-picky, lol. I agree with your points. We still have to look at this trade as more than what meets the eye though; Tampa's also getting the extra player to protect.

Oh right. I guess I was so high on Seth Jones at the time my brain still can't seem to process that he fell to 4th.
