That's just brutal. Gotta be at least 5 games and I would prefer 10.

Holy shit. That was absolutely insane. WTF. Charging, hitting from behind, boarding, hit to the head... suspend him for the rest of the season. He'll probably get a minor suspension because they just handed out the 15 games to Thornton.

It's charging no doubt and should get a few games, but why Schenn would turn his back to the play is beyond me.

He doesn't turn his back on the play, he's skating the puck behind the net and looking to make a breakout pass instead of cycling behind...

When Wilson drives in, his back is to him. That's why he goes flying in the boards face first.

            When he gets the puck:

            Point of contact:

He can be wanting to make whatever play he wants, Wilson doesn't make contact until Schenn turned his back.

Well sure, but Schenn is playing the puck, which is rolling towards the end boards. What's he supposed to do, not look at the puck?

                Re: Wilsons hit on Schenn

It's not rolling to the end boards. He has it on his stick. He could have wrapped it around the boards or made another play. Fact is he turned his back to the play and Wilson's hit was even worse than it would have been if Schenn took it on his side. He would have still flown into the boards, but not face first like he did. Schenn turning makes the hit look way worse than it is. It's a big time charge, but the result of the hit could have been avoided.

It only looks like his back is turned because you are seeing it from behind. Have a look at this angle, just before Wilson connects:

His back is not turned. He is stick handling a rolling puck.

Sorry, but I don't buy all this nonsense. When you come from across the rink to hit someone, and you actually take one or two more strides to really make sure you get violent contact - Schenn could have been doing an Irish jig in the corner for all I care.

In 2013 there is NO excuse for a hit like that.

Did you guys see the hit on Getzlaf? I trying to figure out why it didn't warrant a suspension...

That's probably because it does warrant a suspension IMO. Not as severe, but 2-3 games for me.

Does hitting from behind warrant a suspension? If so, Quincey should have been suspended. It wasn't a headshot though, nor was it charging.

It wasn't a headshot, but it is both a hit from behind and boarding. I know I'm on the harsher side of this, but stuff like that also should be suspended.

No suspension coming. Deemed that Schenn turning his back to the contact makes it worse.
