Remember when Chris Wideman was playing defence for Ottawa and they were 8-3-5? And now he's not and they've gone 1-9-2. I can't wait for the team to let him walk as a UFA so they can extend Ceci for eight years.
I mean, hell, if we're going to lose by 5-6 goals a night then surely we can afford to just play the kids now? Claesson with Karlsson. Staple Oduya and Ceci to the bench. Bring up Jaros. Do SOMETHING.
According to Liam McGuire (TSN 1200) and apparently some HF Boards poster who said it shortly before Liam's blog, the Sens have been sold and the deal will be announced within the next few weeks. An interesting spin, as the new owner would be OSEG and Jeff Hunt. A familiar name in Ottawa, as he's been an unreal owner for both the 67s and the Redblacks, but the NHL is obviously next-level.

Oh dear lord do I ever hope this is true!
When does this city start building a statue for Jeff Hunt?
Jeff Hunt, the president of sports with the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group, received countless calls and messages Wednesday asking if there was any…
To be honest, I'm really convinced this team will be sold by the end of the season.
A lot of people are denying things, but where there's smoke, there's fire. Plus, throughout all of these rumours, Melnyk hasn't said a word. The NHL 100 is this weekend. You don't see him hyping anything up, or saying anything to anyone.
Kyle Turris talking about his departure from Ottawa: "Pretty sure management wanted to keep me there but not Melnyk"
Dorion responds: Every hockey operations passes through me, not Mr Melnyk.
Ian Mendes shares this status on twitter and Julie Turris replies with a very simple : "lol".
And another thing, Dorion's son told him : "Dad, your team, your level of suckage is high." - Arash Madani
I don't think anyone is surprised by that comment. Dorion will obviously defend his boss and owner, but everybody knows Melnyk plays a large role. With that being said, I'm sure other factors came into play (Stone/Karlsson needing new contracts in a year).
In a perfect world, imagine the Sens extending Karlsson and adding White or someone to the deal instead of Turris.
Stone - Duchene - Ryan
Hoffman - Turris - Smith
Dzingel - Brassard - Pageau
Pyatt - Thompson - Burrows
The forward depth looks 10x better. Especially having centres like Smith and Pageau adding depth on the wing in case a centre goes down

I don't think both Duchene and Turris would have fit under the salary cap.
The Sens weren't perfect but that game was so much better than anything they've done recently. Bobby Ryan was everywhere. Ceci scores again and did well defensively. Nick Paul had a great game.
Burrows was not missed one bit. Oduya was horrid but only got 12 or so minutes. I hope these are signs Boucher is starting to see sense?!

Also Ben Harpur getting sent to Belleville helps.
-Glad Neil will play in the alumni game and probably formally retire a Senator
-Team is definitely still gonna be sold
-Glad Turris issues were with Melnyk and not Boucher/Dorion
