Of course, during the one time the fans are excited all season (alumni game), Melnyk goes on Tim and Sid and talks bad about Sens fans not buying tickets and the possibility of relocation if things got worse.
It brings me joy to realize I have not spent significant money on the team in a few years. I bought a Heritage Classic jersey a few years ago, one playoff ticket last year and a tshirt for a friend last year.

Elliotte Friedman mentioned in his 31 Thoughts that Murray was always able to keep Melnyk in check. Friedman witnessed Melnyk trying to get into the teams locker room during the 2010 Playoffs, and Murray denied him. He also mentioned that the Desmarais family declined interest in an NHL team six years ago, but refused an interview this time around.

Hoffman, to be, is a trading chip if you're going to make a move. Not to say I don't like him - his game has really developed in the last couple of seasons. But, to me, he's more like a poor mans Phil Kessel. A great complimentary piece to step it up when you need a big goal, but not someone that drives offense. That's Mark Stone.

I don’t think my interest for the team has ever been this low. I don’t even follow the schedule anymore, and I’ll tune in for a third of a game if I see it on and feel like it.
I find it hard to watch given their poor play along with the ownership and management situation. This is the first time as a Sens fan I’ve felt like there’s literally no hope.
