Duchene's goal really shows his value. Wins a puck battle strongly, throws it to the net, then drives in for the goal.

Pageau tipped it, it's his goal.

Dzingel puts it in after a nice play. 6-3. Ottawa finally playing well.

I missed the last three goals. Back to back wins, though? Awesome

It's both fun and frustrating, to me.

You see them dominate the Sharks, outshooting them 15-1 in ten minutes and completing a three goal comeback, and then turning around and beating the best team in the league 6-3 a night later.

But then, you have games like the one against the Bruins. A complete no-show, 5-0 loss on home ice after a great effort.

We know this team isn't a bad team. Losing Methot does not drop the team from 98 points to 70 points. You have Karlsson, a 70+ point wizard on D. You have Mark Stone, a point per game (this season), two-way force. You have Mike Hoffman and Matt Duchene, two 25-goal hot-and-cold guys. You have Bobby Ryan, who's a top-six guy for about 30 games a season. Brassard, Dzingel, etc.

Next two games, back to back against Chicago and Toronto will tell me which team is "real" at this point.

Perhaps lost in the stat line (8 goals in 2 games), Andy has been making the timely saves. Still not at his best but when the team is pushing he shuts the door behind them.

Also, Chabot is young and still makes some mistakes but he and Karlsson are a pair that surely strikes fear into the opposition.

I mean, it’s too late to see the Sens make the playoffs (they’d need an equivalent record of around 28-14 to do so), but I’m hoping to see some good hockey out of the young guys, as well as guys like Duchene in hopes it carries over into next season.
