At only 35 years old, Ray Emery passed away this morning. Apparently, he dove into a lake with friends/family and never came back up.

i'm actually so sad, dude was the only reason I cheered for Ottawa during their 2007 Cup run. He made me love the goaltending position. -

Haha yeah the rest of us all still refer to you as Rayzor.
I loved the guy too. One of the most interesting personalities I've seen in all my time watching hockey.Comment

It was such a weird tandem at the time. Emery and Gerber, polar opposites as personalities and even on the ice. Emery loved "the fight", literally but also as a competitor. He lacked a little maturity at times but that was also what made him so interesting.
I'm glad he eventually did get his ring and it is so sad to hear that he passed away. 35 is WAY too young. RIP Razor.Comment

Such an important character in the narrative that is the Ottawa Senators. Ray, to me, is a great example of the flame burning twice as brightly and thus half as long. We won't forget you, Razor.Comment
