  • General Tampa Bay Lightning Thread

The Lightning could tie the all-time win record of 62, set by Detroit in '96, with 11 wins in their remaining 14 games. They could break it with 12 of their remaining 14.

Seems unlikely, but something about this team man.

Beast of a team right now, and Kucherov is still on pace for the best offensive season since Super Mario a quarter of a century ago!

But let's never forget that Jagr had the most tragic season of all time that year.

      150. Five players have done it, Esposito, Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman, Bernie Nicholls.

Mike Bossy had 147 one year. Tragic. Years later, Pat Lafontaine had 148. More tragic.

But Jagr '96, had 149 points while watching his teammate score 12 more points in 12 less games, to be perhaps the last player to ever hit 150. Most tragic.

Seems a bit less far-fetched now. Need 10 of their last 12.

Kucherov only on pace for 127 now though.

They need 8 of their last 10. Functioning as a well-oiled machine. Basically what 2003 New Jersey was to the trap era, Tampa Bay is to today's NHL.

They now need 6 of 8. To put it into perspective, that's a win percentage of .75, which is roughly where they're sitting for the season as a whole with 57 of 74. Doable almost sounds like an understatement at this point.
