Agreed the timing is weird, but they're still in a playoff race with games in hand, so I guess if they were gonna do it anyway, they wanted to make a change before its too late.

Personally I think that without another full-time head coach in place, it's poor timing for the move. If only just for the inevitable circus, I hope they end up going with Patrick Roy as HC. Guy Boucher would be an interesting choice. Wonder if Julien ends up in Seattle..
