Looking at it from the other side...Does Halak have that many options? Is his worth, worth refusing a reasonable (!) offer from the Isles? Would he get many offers?

Plus, I don't think they gave up that much to at least try..

I REALLY like this signing for the Islanders. Kinda shocked they actually were able to keep him on. Halak is not quite 30 years old so should just now be starting to mature. He's definitely got a clear shot at being a #1 on the Island compared to on other teams maybe having to be a 1b.

Ehh, the Sens were not in the playoffs, so I haven't really been following recently.
