Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) - SPOILERS
So I might as well leave my episode 10 thoughts here just to have them down somewhere, but then I won't check this thread pretty much ever again. :P
I stupidly watched a Youtube video once with the note (SPOILERS) and found out that Tywin dies. I mean, everyone dies but this was obvious that it'll be soon enough. I feel it will be in episode 10 because I also know Tyrion won't die because I once accidentally read that Varys helps him escape. I feel like that will cause some commotion resulting in some crazy things resulting in Tywin's, and maybe others' death.
So it's still a theory but one based on a spoiler. Now to get the hell out of this thread.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) - SPOILERS
OK so let's just pick up the talk in here rather than moving the posts over. Matt, I'm curious to know about what happens to Jorah. I definitely think Jon Snow is a Targaryen, and could even end up marrying Daenerys.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones - Show Only NO SPOILERS
I realized there's a hole in my theory. I had Jon as a Targaryen, the three-eyed raven controlling the White Walkers and it coming down to the White Walkers vs the Targaryen Dragon's. But that would mean Jon vs Bran, which I couldn't see. I know Theon flipped just like that but Bran and Jon have always treated and respected each other a lot.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones - Show Only NO SPOILERS
That episode was....good, but a strange, strange ending. I was expecting Stannis to come into play, and the war never even ended. Perhaps the next episode will be a little longer as there's still a lot I thought they would include this season.
I mean, there wasn't a huge climax in this episode. I suppose Ygritte dying was big but I'm sort of left wanting more.
Edit: 66 mins for the final episode...makes sense (http://winteriscoming.net/2014/04/26/hb ... d-runtime/)Comment

Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) - SPOILERS
I haven't actually read them yet. I've read up a ton on the history of Westeros, since as soon as I was introduced to all of it by the show, it immediately captivated me. Reading up exposed many spoilers, and so I don't mind now to know what's already been written. Honestly, one kind of needs the bigger picture before being able to properly understand the relationships between all the houses, as far as just what you get from the show, that is.Comment

Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) - SPOILERS
I have many friends who watch and love the show, but then can hardly hold a conversation about what's really going on. With something as deep as GoT/ASoIaF, I'm not ok with just being entertained; I want to understand every last detail.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire) - SPOILERS
I really like the non-linear storyline and the shadowings of real history that the story possesses. Westeros in my mind resembles medieval England/Scotland (north of the wall), the Slaver's Bay area is the Middle East and Braavos has similarities to Greece. Despite being a fantasy series, there is a lot of realism throughout the story - dragons and walkers aside.
And just like in history, the good guys don't always win. As cool of a character as Ned Stark was, had he stuck around there would have been a lot less excitement and turmoil. The circumstances around his death at the end of the first book (or end of the first season) really hit you in the gut. I remember reading that bit and being devastated.Comment
