Re: 2014 NHL entry draft
Some players I'm interested in for the Sens at 40th are Hunter Smith, Connor Bleakley, Jayce Hawryluk, Brett Pollock, Anton Karlsson, Eric Cornel and Shane Eiserman.
Hunter Smith is a really interesting prospect. He's been skyrocketing up the charts over the latter part of the season. He's a 6'6 winger who can uses his size, plays physical, and can score a bit. I have a feeling he'll end up getting picked before 40th, but if he were still available, I'd be all over that. Might even be a guy worth moving up for, although we're pretty short on picks in this draft, so we'll only be moving up if it's for a player the scouting staff really, really likes.

Re: 2014 NHL entry draft
You guys got a good one. I've seen him at least a half dozen times live, and I swear every time we saw him he had at least two points. Multiple multi-goal games. He's got size, skating, shot, hands, and he's tougher than your typical Russian goal-scorer. Could be one of the big steals of the first round, but of course you've always gotta be worried about the Russian factor, which is precisely why he fell as low as he did. Had he been North American, he would have easily gone in the top 15, maybe even top 10.
What is it with the Habs picking Blades? Thrower, Dietz, now Scherbak...
As for the Sens, I'm excited we were able to get Eiserman where we did. I thought he might be an option with our second round pick, so to get him in the fourth was awesome.
