The pick is in 2016, so 2 years from now. Looks to me like they wanted to get rid of him no matter what.

Not a bad trade for Montreal who was clearly looking to deal Gorges, but a pretty solid trade for Buffalo adding a veteran defenseman who will be solid for them.
