In the AHL he has two goals and six points in 18 games, and is a -6. Hard to imagine him playing past this season when he's not even producing like a top six forward in the AHL.

Do you guys still hate Heatley? Maybe it's because he's faded into nothing and I completely forget he exists anymore, but I don't really care about him anymore. With that being said, he's not somebody I would want back even if he was scoring 30 goals and 60 points.

I guess this is a decent signing for the Ducks for $1M. I have to laugh at people who think with the right line mates and playing time and all that, Heatley can get ~30 goals again. He's pretty clearly passed that part of his career, and sniffing 20 goals would be a success for him. It was like when people thought Spezza would make Cheechoo a 30 goal scorer again. Some players just aren't capable anymore.

I guess I don't really hate him any more at all. In fact, in the end we got a better player out of Michalek than what Heatley did for San Jose or Minnesota. But I don't LIKE him, and I don't like the Ducks either, so it's a good fit in my opinion. Better than having him on a team I like anyways..

Forward Dany Heatley has signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks, the team announced Wednesday. Financial details were not disclosed but it reportedly is for $1 million, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
