A pretty low-risk signing from the Flyers. Del Zotto still has potential, although I can't see him becoming the defenseman that he could have become. Perhaps he'll settle down as a bottom-pairing defenseman, I don't know. -

Presumably they need a powerplay guy, with Timonen's recent illness. Hopefully Del Zotto can bounce back, he could still be a decent player.Comment

Good point. Looking at his stats, he's dropped from a rookie year of 37 points and a third year of 41 points down to 16 points in 67 games last year. That screams lost confidence to me. A lot of players bounce back from that...but just as many flame out because of it. Hopefully he can bounce back but a change of scenery not helping is a little bit worrisome. But I think he could be a good short-term fix for Timonen on the power play.
It's kind of funny the Rangers were asking for Methot straight up for Del Zotto in the winter.Comment
