I don't really think he's in any position not to otherwise his NHL career will be done for good. Bergevin challenged him before the season and he failed by continuing to not show any effort. This is all on Bourque.
I'm a little surprised, like Josh, that's there's no market for him. He's not doing well but he seems like the type of guy who could really use a change of scenery and would be a decent complimentary player for a couple years. I'm not surprised he cleared waivers, though. I'm sure a team would want to send at least some salary back if they're taking a gamble.
It's crazy to think that, no matter what the reason, he has not scored more than 16 points since 2010-11. Wow.
