When Greening is your albatross, you don't really have an albatross. Glad Ottawa's "drama" pales in comparison to every other team in the league.

I guess that's one very optimistic way to look at it. I don't think he's going to find any Ryan-esque deals out there, but we'll see.

If it means we are giving up another Silfverberg, Noesen and a 1st I would rather start cheering for the Leafs.

To be fair, none of those prospects are doing anything right now. Anaheim got Ritchie with our pick though, right? He could potentially end up being the best player in the deal. Right now though, Ryan is still money. He actually might be our most consistent skater at this point.

Silfverberg is very overrated. It's now his third year in the league and he's shown little to no improvement. He's a pretty slow guy, and while he has a good release, he has problems getting the shot off. He's money in the shootout, though. Noesen could turn out to be something...hard to say. His development was definitely skewed by injuries. Ritchie might be good, who knows.

The Sens got the best player in the deal. Ryan doesn't have a lot to work with in Ottawa and has adapted his game. He's one of the only players on the team I feel comfortable with in their current role.

I'd make that trade again any day.

                +1

I also like that he came out and very clearly said Anderson is not being shopped.
