  • Outdoor games for 2015-2016

The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens will play at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Jan. 1 in the Bridgestone 2016 NHL Winter Classic.

There will be two Coors Light Stadium Series games in 2015-16.

The first will be Feb. 21 at TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. That game will feature the Minnesota Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks. Six days later, the Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings will play at Coors Field in Denver.

This will be the second NHL Winter Classic in Boston. The Bruins played the Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park in 2010.

Honestly, at this point, does anyone care about the Winter Classic, Heritage Classic, or any Stadium Series games? I guess, for some people, the first couple would have been cool. Now it just seems like it's the same recycled teams (Boston, Chicago, Detroit) involved in one of them. If it's not, cool. Nothing new to see here.

I just don't get what the selling point for the NHL here is. Cool, the game is outside. A lot of fans? Yeah, but they're so far away from the arena most of them can't even see the game. As a fan, why should I want to tune in to this game over the average game?

Lets just say, I don't break any plans to watch these games.

I think the Montreal - Boston one will be pretty cool.

Yeah, but it'll be just like any other Boston - Montreal game. I just don't see why a fan who wouldn't tune into the game if it was inside would tune in because it's outside.
