3-2 Stars after the first period

Dallas got three, and the Sens responded with two

Bobby Ryan has a goal and an assist. Lehner looks underwhelming.

Michalek has really, really improved over the past 10 games.

Chiasson ties the game. His first in 17 games and it comes against his former team

Klingberg scores for Dallas. Nice shot, but definitely a stoppable puck to say the least

I can't count how many times the puck has gone through Lehtonen and not gone in

I really don't know what Lehner's issue is. A couple years ago he looked like he was close to being a #1 goalie in the league (still needed seasoning). This year he's been a liability most games.

Also, on the topic of goaltending, when Anderson is out with a hand injury I have to assume he made another chicken sandwich. Does anyone know the details?

No, we should TOTALLY trade Anderson. Lehner is TOTALLY ready right now...

                    /sarcasm

Even later in the game he was extremely shaky and as always his rebound control leaves a lot to be desired. His goaltending recently has all the hallmarks of Gerber...the team has no confidence he will make saves and there is always a really weak goal.

I'd also like to call out Cowen and Gryba, who both had really poor games.

Our forwards are actually doing a decent job, we just cannot defend.

Dreidger and Hogberg are both gonna be 24-years-old when Anderson's contract is up so maybe one of those guys can step up and ninten-do what Lehnder ninten-doesn't. Or maybe Lehner will have found himself by then.

Cowen and Ceci are the ultimate big-frame-with-lots-of-potential-but-no-desire-or-effort defensive pairing.

I've never seen a player as big as Cowen is play so soft. Dude's like Charmin out there! At one point last night he tried to outmuscle a Dallas player (I forget who) going to the net but instead ended up folded up like a cheap camping chair below the net.

What's odd about Cowen is he has his spurts. He'll be physically active for a few games, and then go back to being soft. I think he just lacks the smarts to reach his full potential.
